Forest Lake at Woodbury
4:15 p.m., Friday, April 24

These Suburban East Conference contenders face off after recording similar results in their nearly identical schedules.

Both teams beat East Ridge and Roseville and lost to Park, but Forest Lake (4-2, 4-2) leads Woodbury (3-2, 3-2) in the standings by one victory after the Bears defeated White Bear Lake 10-2 on April 17. A victory in this matchup is key to keeping pace with Park (4-1, 4-0), which sits atop the conference.

Ashley Mickschl has posted a 3-1 record with a 1.18 ERA and 31 strikeouts. She's also producing at the plate, leading the team with 12 total bases and four doubles while sharing the lead in hits with six in 15 at-bats.

Forest Lake graduated seven seniors from a team that shared the conference title with Hastings last year but is on pace for another strong season behind all-conference honorable mention pitcher Hally Osdick. Osdick anchors a developing Rangers' pitching staff, which includes junior Jenna Whitson, sophomore Amanda Gemuenden and possibly ninth-grader Megan Baniecke.
