The top two teams in the Metro West Conference standings meet in the regular-season finale that carries plenty of weight. The winner will not only secure the league title but also gain an edge in seeding for the Class 4A, Section 2 playoffs.

Bloomington Jefferson (9-2, 8-0) sits atop the conference with a lead on second-place Chanhassen thanks to a dramatic 3-2 victory over the Storm on April 22 in which the No. 3-4A Jaguars scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Bloomington Jefferson has won eight of its last nine games, while No. 7-4A Chanhassen (12-2, 8-1) has won seven straight, including a 3-2, eight-inning win over No. 10-4A Buffalo on May 5.

Jess Bren and Marybeth Olson each have six home runs this season for the Storm. Bren also leads the team with 27 RBI and is hitting .511.
