Maple Grove has won the past four Northwest Suburban Conference titles, but it appears the Crimson will cede control over the league to either Anoka or Elk River this year.

The No. 2-4A Tornadoes (14-2, 9-1) sit atop the conference standings with the Elks and are pushing for an outright league crown. Anoka faces Champlin Park and Osseo before ending the regular season with Maple Grove Thursday.

The Crimson (10-6, 7-4) picked up a 10-0 victory to hand Anoka its only conference loss last season, beating out the Tornadoes for the Northwest Suburban title.
