Eagan dives into the season with conference matchups right out of the gate. The Wildcats, last season’s South Suburban Conference champions, face Shakopee Monday in the season opener before taking on Lakeville North.

The Wildcats begin this season with new coach Christian Duncan, who is plenty familiar with the South Suburban Conference after previously serving as an assistant coach at Prior Lake. He takes over with several returning players, including all-conference selections Alyssa Jolliffe, a pitcher, and second baseman Taylor Luecke. All-conference honorable mentions Samantha Sogge and junior pitcher Heidi Nelson also return for Eagan.

Lakeville North returns key members from its 11-13 squad from a year ago, most notably St. Cloud State recruit Amanda Moncelle and Minnesota State recruit Hailey Forshee. All-conference honorable selection Paige Anderson rounds out the Panthers' returners.
