Rosemount vs. Rogers
9 a.m., Saturday, April 15

Rosemount pitcher and Tennessee commit Gabby Sprang will try to shut down a revamped Rogers squad at the Forest Lake Ranger Classic. Last season, Sprang went 10-6 with a .72 ERA and 198 strikeouts but the Irish finished just 10-13.

Rosemount will need to be more productive at the plate this season after averaging just three runs per game in 2016. All-conference picks Danielle Sorenson, Meghan Olson and honorable mention selection Shannon Dawson look to pace the offense.

The Royals (1-2, 1-2) are retooling after the graduation of standout pitcher Katelyn Kemmetmueller. So far this season, Melea Bruns and Kaitlynn Lloyd have taken on pitching duties. Bruns allowed one hit in six innings in a 4-0 win over Big Lake on April 4.

Since the opening-day victory, Rogers has dropped its last two games, a 6-1 loss to St. Michael-Albertville on April 6 and a 7-4 defeat against rival Buffalo on April 7.
