Eastview vs. Prior Lake
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 12

Eastview’s Grace Gall stepped into the pitching circle as a sophomore last season, taking over for Kerrigan Hoshaw, who helped guide the Lightning to the 2015 Class 3A state title. It was a tough act to follow but Gall went 11-1 with a .26 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 108 innings.

Eastview (1-0), which won its opener 10-0 over Andover on April 6, will rely on Gall along with all-state second team selection Abby Lien and Jessi Decovich to get back to state under new coach Molly Kasper. Kasper also coaches the Eastview girls' basketball team.

Prior Lake graduated two starting pitchers in Angela McBeain and Caitlin Stone. The Lakers, who started last year 15-0, will hand the ball to junior Kailey Ahlstrom this season.

Ahlstrom will get some run support from the lineup with Class 4A all-state honorable mention selection and North Dakota recruit Jocelyn Kirk returning.
