Bloomington Jefferson vs. Chanhassen
4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20

In this Metro West Conference battle, Bloomington Jefferson and Chanhassen clash for the first time in 2017. The Jaguars have ruled the conference since its inception and the Storm have been hot on their heels each year.

Despite missing out on the conference title, Chanhassen is the defending Class 4A champion and has clobbered its way to a 2-0 start, scoring 31 runs in two games and allowing zero.

On the mound, Taylor Manno struck out 14 in a 12-0 win over Bloomington Kennedy on April 13, allowing just one hit. Marybeth Olson struck out eight of the 11 hitters she faced in a 19-0 win against Robbinsdale Cooper on April 11. Whoever picks up the assignment against Bloomington Jefferson will need to be on top form to hold the Jaguars' offense down.

Bloomington Jefferson (2-0, 2-0) cruised to a 15-0, six-inning win over St. Louis Park in its season-opener and followed that up with a 7-2 win over Chaska.

Ashley Neuenfeldt leads the Jaguars with five RBI while Anne Miller and Jacey Defries have each driven in four runs. Neuenfeldt is 4-for-6 with two runs and Miller is hitting .571. Pitcher Hailey Martinez has struck out 19 in 13 innings and boasts a .54 ERA.
