Anoka has started the 2017 season with four consecutive wins. Amber Elliott outdueled Halley Jones in a 2-0 win over Spring Lake Park on April 18 and the No. 3-4A Tornadoes (4-0, 4-0) followed that with an 8-5 win over Elk River on April 20.

Kaitlyn Backman has gone 7-for-8 with four runs, while Alyssa Wicks is 5-for-8 at the plate this season. Elliott has also been helping herself at the plate with three RBI and a .500 average.

Totino-Grace is one of three undefeated teams left in the Northwest Suburban Conference along with Anoka and Blaine. Pitcher Erin Poepping, an East Carolina recruit, is 3-1 with a 1.35 ERA and 23 strikeouts in 26 innings. She also leads the team with eight RBI and is hitting .500.

Offensively, the Eagles (4-1, 2-0) have done well, with Alexandra Radotich going 10-for-14 to start the season and Lauren Scheneman, who is hitting .571.
