Maple Grove vs. Elk River

It’s always a battle when Northwest Suburban Conference foes Maple Grove and Elk River matchup, even if both are struggling.

The Crimson (2-3, 2-2) have lost three of their last four, but the win was an emphatic 14-4 victory over Park Center on April 20. Marie Pallansch had four RBI, three runs and three hits in the win.

The Elks (3-2, 3-1) lost back-to-back games last week, falling 8-5 to No. 3-4A Anoka and 7-5 No. 4-3A Becker. Elk River will look for offense from players like Shelby Novotny, who had a home run and two RBI against the Tornadoes, and Caitlyn Aday added two RBI in that game. 

Haley Ullrich and Kincaid Strain split time in the circle for the Elks and will look to contain a Maple Grove offense that has scored over five runs only once this season.
