Anoka vs. Blaine
4:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 2

Anoka (8-0, 5-0) has been impressive lately in remaining unbeaten. The Tornadoes came out of the Forest Lake Ranger Classic on April 22 with three victories: a 2-0 decision over No. 10-4A Bloomington Jefferson, a 5-1 win over Hastings and a 5-2 victory over Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Amber Elliott outdueled Totino-Grace’s Erin Poepping on April 28, giving up just one run on two hits and striking out 17. Elliott also went 2-for-4 at the plate and Emma Bright finished 2-for-2. Anoka finished with nine hits in the 6-1 victory and is hitting .349 as a team this season.

While many hitters haven’t found much success against Elliott, Blaine’s Taylor Bross has hit just about everything this season. Bross carries a .464 batting average and has driven in 17 runs. Madison Pederson has provided a nice complement in the Bengals' (7-1, 4-0) lineup to Bross and is hitting .548 with 12 RBI.

Bross had a home run and three RBI on April 28 in an 11-5 win over Centennial and finished 2-for-2 with four runs. She homered again on April 29 in a 12-5 win over East Ridge and added three RBI. Kasidy Chileen went 2-for-4 with a run and RBI against the Raptors.
