Prior Lake vs. Farmington
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 3

Prior Lake (9-1, 6-1) hasn’t lost since a season-opening 5-2 decision to Farmington back on April 11, preventing the No. 7-4A Lakers from the top spot in the South Suburban Conference standings. Prior Lake will get its chance to avenge that blemish and grab a share of the lead in the league with a game against the conference-leading Tigers (9-1, 6-0).

The Lakers have five shutouts during their nine-game winning streak, including a 7-0 nonconference win over Farmington in the Mankato East Tournament on April 22. Prior Lake’s offense has been on a tear lately and has hit 10 home runs as a team. Three of those came on April 28 in a 12-11 win over Apple Valley, including a three-run home run from Madeline Larson in the top of the sixth inning.

The No. 5-4A Tigers bounced back from their loss to the Lakers with a 7-1 win over rival Rosemount on April 24 and a 5-2 win over Shakopee on April 28 to remain unbeaten in the South Suburban.

Emily Berdan hit a two-run home run against the Sabers and Maddie Muelken outdueled Gabby Sprang in the win over Rosemount.
