Forest Lake (9-2, 6-2) built some momentum behind a 3-0 showing at its Ranger Classic on April 22, knocking off Champlin Park 11-5, Hastings 3-2 and Bloomington Jefferson 2-1. After the No. 2-4A Rangers defeated White Bear Lake 11-1 win on April 28, they snapped their seven game winning streak with a 5-2 loss to Woodbury last Saturday.

Forest Lake’s Megan Baniecke, Claire Bakkenstuen and Amanda Gemuenden each hit home runs in the win over the Bears. Gemuenden finished 4-for-4 with four runs and four RBI while Baniecke went 2-for-2 with four RBI and Bakkestuen finished 1-for-2 with two RBI. But the Rangers' offense was held to four hits against the Royals.

Park of Cottage Grove (8-1, 6-1) has won its last five games since losing 7-2 on April 12 to the Rangers. The No. 4-4A Wolfpack have scored 11 or more runs in four of those five wins.

Delaney Young hit a three-run home run back on April 21 to beat rival Woodbury 3-2 and Hanna Mortenson allowed just two hits in 5.2 innings to get the win. Mortenson also hit a three-run home run on April 28 in an 11-6 win over Roseville.
