The Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association released state rankings Thursday and the biggest change took place in Class 1A.

Class 1A

Randolph rocketed to the top of the rankings in Class 1A Thursday in the latest Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association poll.

The Rockets (11-1, 7-0) dethroned Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian despite having its season-opening 11-game winning streak come to a halt May 2 in a 9-1 loss to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown. Randolph will try to hold down that top spot this weekend at its tournament where it will meet former Gopher Conference rival Blooming Prairie (9-2, 5-1) which has strung together an eight-game winning streak.

The Flying Dutchmen (11-1, 4-0) fell from the top spot in Class 1A to move to No. 2-1A. Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian bounced back a 7-2 loss April 22 to Brainerd with three straight wins.

New York Mills (13-0, 11-0) rose to the No. 3 ranking after coming in at No. 5 the previous week.

Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (11-1, 5-1) and Maranatha Christian (13-1, 8-0) each came at No. 4 in this week’s poll.

Chatfield (11-0, 11-0) rose to the No. 3 ranking and leads the Three Rivers Conference West division while averaging nearly 12 runs a game.

Albany (10-1, 5-1) moved down a spot to No. 4 and will have a rematch with St. Cloud Cathedral -- the only team to beat the Huskies this season -- May 9.

Winona Cotter (12-4, 11-2) fell to No. 5 in the poll from the No. 4 slot to round out the top five.

Class 3A

Mankato West (11-1, 7-0) and Hermantown (7-0) stayed at the top two spots, respectively, while Faribault continued its rise in the rankings. The Falcons, which moved up to No. 6 last week after being ranked No. 23 the previous week, captured the No. 3 ranking in this week’s poll. The Falcons (7-0, 7-0) heads to the Lakeville North tournament this weekend and will get a test with No. 8-3A Visitation there.

Rocori (9-0, 6-0) moved up five spots this week to grab the No. 5 ranking in Class 3A.

Class 4A

Chanhassen (11-0, 8-0) has shut out all but one opponent this season and has locked down the No. 1 spot in Class 4A. But a matchup with Bloomington Jeffers, the only team that has scored a run off the Storm, looms May 10.

Anoka (9-0, 6-0) has navigated a difficult schedule expertly and have allowed just 10 runs in nine games this season. The Tornadoes moved up to the No. 2 ranking following a 3-0 win over No. 7 Blaine.

Prior Lake (11-1, 8-1) moved to the top spot in the South Suburban following a 3-2 win May 3 over Farmington and has moved up to the No. 3 ranking in Class 4A from the No. 7 spot.
