Chanhassen vs. Bloomington Jefferson
4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 10

Chanhassen has put up some staggering numbers this season. The Storm (14-0, 8-0) have allowed just one run to an in-state opponent. Overall, No. 1-4A Chanhassen has 11 shutouts in 2017.

Those shutouts aren’t the product of just one pitcher either. Maddie Schwartz, Taylor Manno and Marybeth Olson have combined to shut down opponents at an astonishing rate. Schwartz struck out 10 in a 7-0 win over Wisconsin’s D.C. Everest on May 6. She also went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run.

The Jaguars (10-5, 7-1) have stood in Chanhassen’s way of a Metro West Conference title each of the last two seasons, and might be able to prevent the Storm from clinching the title outright with a win.

Bloomington Jefferson is the only Minnesota team this season to score a run against the Storm, back in a 6-1 loss on April 20.

Ashley Neuenfeldt allowed two hits in a 2-0 win over Maple Grove in the Eastview Great 8 Tournament last Saturday, but Hailey Martinez, who is 7-4 with a 1.78 ERA and 68 strikeouts in 63 innings, will likely get the ball against Chanhassen.
