FAIRMONT - A familiar face will return to the Fairmont Cardinal softball dugout this spring, only in a different capacity.

Terry Ehlert, who's served as the Cardinals' assistant coach during the past three seasons, has been selected as the Fairmont softball program's new head varsity coach.
Ehlert fills the void created by Allison Klassen's resignation during the offseason.
"I applied for the position because I felt like I needed to see the program continue to grow and get better," said Ehlert. "I really enjoy teaching the kids, too."
Ehlert inherits a red-and-white roster that produced a 5-12 overall record in 2011, but returns the majority of its starters, including numerous underclassmen.
