Hailey Lundquist

Hailey Lundquist’s most memorable moment as a high school athlete came two years ago when the Raiders won the Class 3A state championship. The center fielder would like to conclude her prep career with one more run at the title. Here is a closer look at Lundquist, who also played tennis and hockey for the Raiders:

The best movie I’ve seen in the past year: “42.” I recommend it to everyone.

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Competitive, compassionate, motivated.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker, “Girl on Fire” by Alicia Keys, and anything by Adele.

What are your three favorite apps? Twitter, Pinterest, Vine.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? Hastings very own sports announcers Nick Tuckner and Manny Hill.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … pumped up and ready to go. The softball program does a great job of making sure the younger girls transition right into varsity and can be successful.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? I wish girls’ athletics received more recognition.

How do you balance school and sports? Study halls are my best friend, and teachers are very flexible when they can meet you to help you out. I never have to miss practice to make stuff up or ask questions.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Minnesota Wild! Who wouldn’t want to watch Zach Parise?

In 10 years, I hope I’m … living and working in New York City.
