Star Tribune All-Metro first team selections Marybeth Olson, Jessica Bren, Ashley Mickschl and Carlie Brandt were among the players named to all-tournament teams released by the Minnesota State High School League following the completion of the state softball tournament on June 10. The all-tournament teams are selected by coaches attending the state tournament.

Olson and Bren helped Chanhassen defeat Buffalo 5-3 in the championship game and bring home the inaugural Class 4A state title.

Olson took over in the pitcher's circle with the bases loaded and no outs in the top of the seventh inning and her team leading 5-2. After getting the first Bison batter out and then giving up a run-scoring single, the junior recorded back-to-back strikeouts to secure Chanhassen its first state championship.

Bren had a three-run home run in the first inning and an RBI single later in the game.

Mickschl and Woodbury shut out Hopkins 12-0 in the Class 4A third-place game, while Brandt and LeSueur-Henderson finished fourth in Class 2A following a 3-0 loss to Rockford.

Buffalo's Morgan DeMarais, a Star Tribune All-Metro third team selection, was also named to the Class 4A All-Tournament team.
