MINNESOTA SENIOR 2017 NIT COACHES NAMED

Jeremy Gunderson and Kelly Morris have been named the coaches for the 2017 Senior NIT team.

Jeremy Gunderson and Kelly Morris have been named as the coaches for the 2017 Minnesota Hockey High School NIT Senior Team. Both return following last year's championship at the NIT beating Wisconsin in the final. Their bios are below:

Jeremy Gunderson

Jeremy Gunderson has been coaching for the past 22 years.  He is currently the Head Coach for the Dodge County Wildcats. His record over the last 10 years there is 185-75-9. He has coached in several Minnesota Hockey and MGHCA programs including the Senior Classic, the MGHCA Junior Festival, the Minnesota Hockey High Performance programs as a coach and General Manager (10 years). Jeremy is returning for the 2nd year as one of the Minnesota Senior NIT team coaches. The team won the title last year beating a very good Wisconsin team. He has also coached the Minnesota U18 NIT 2 years.  He has been recognized as the Section 1AA Coach of the Year 4 times and the MN Wild/3MExcellence in Coaching Award recipient 3 times. Jeremy played high school hockey, football and baseball at Rochester John Marshall HS and junior hockey for the Northland Voyagers in Duluth, MN.

 

Kelly Morris
Kelly Morris is returning for her 2nd year as a coach for the Minnesota Senior NIT team.  Currently she is a student at North Dakota State University where she participates on the ACHA Div. 2 club team. In 2015, the team won the ACHA National Championship and she also earned Honorable Mention All-American and Off-Ice Most Valuable Player Award honors from the ACHA.  Kelly has been involved with several Minnesota Hockey programs both as a player and also as an administrator. She is currently the Section 8 High Performance 16/17 GM and the Assistant Director for the MGHCA Senior Classic and U18 Festival.  She has coached youth hockey in the Fargo/Moorhead area, winning a state title in 2015 at the U12 level. Her playing experience included five years of varsity hockey on the Spring Lake park/St Anthony team where she was a captain her junior and senior seasons. She participated in the High School NIT on the U18 team and in the Senior Classic as a senior.  A three sport athlete, she also was a member of the St Anthony United varsity swim team and a varsity softball player for three seasons and a participant in three softball state tournaments.  Kelly will graduate from NDSU in the spring of 2018 with degrees in Biology, Spanish and International Studies.

Kelly Morris
