Player of the Week revealed

Player of the Week

Lauren Pederson, Moose Lake-Willow RiverThe junior dominated at the plate with a triple, a double, two home runs and nine RBI in four at-bats to help her team pull off a 13-8 victory against Rush City.


Player of the Week candidates

Morgan DeMarais, Buffalo. The junior pitched a perfect game, with nine strikeouts, to shut out Monticello 10-0 on Tuesday. She also struck out seven to contribute to her team’s 13-9 victory over St. Michael-Albertville two days later.

Hannah Stevenson, Red Rock Central. The senior pitched a shutout with 10 strikeouts, two hits and two RBI in an 11-0 victory over Heron Lake-Okabena.

Sophie Culhane, Maple Grove. The sophomore had two home runs and four RBI in the Crimson's 4-0 victory against Champlin Park.

Kathryn Proper, St. Paul Como Park. The senior pitcher recorded 15 strikeouts to power her team to a 15-0 victory over Minneapolis South.

Gabby Sprang, Rosemount. The senior pitcher totaled a season-high 16 strikeouts to silence Lakeville South 8-1 on Tuesday. She also struck out 10 in the Irish’s 4-3 defeat of Lakeville North on Thursday.

Aubrey Nelson, Nashwauk-Keewatin. The senior pitched a shutout with 14 strikeouts and contributed an RBI to help her team defeat Duluth Marshall 10-0.

Megan Baniecke, Forest Lake. In the Rangers' 7-2 victory over Cottage Grove, the junior recorded three RBI on three hits and also struck out 13.

Elizabeth Carlson, Barnum. The junior power hitter slammed a double, a triple and a home run in four at-bats against Floodwood, finishing with five RBI in an 18-4 victory.

Marissa Hawkins, Tartan. The junior had two home runs and four RBI to solidify a 9-6 victory over Hill-Murray.

Sarah Johnson, Annandale. The junior pitcher had 15 strikeouts in a 7-1 victory over Dassel-Cokato on Tuesday. She continued her impressive performance from the circle on Thursday with 16 strikeouts in a 3-2 victory over Rockford.
