The Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches Association released state rankings Thursday and the biggest change took place in Class 1A.
Class 1A
Randolph rocketed to the top of the Class 1A poll, dethroning former No. 1-ranked Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian on the strength of an undefeated start to the season. The reign, however, may be short-lived as the Rockets (11-1, 7-0) saw their 11-game winning streak halted with a 9-1 loss to Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on May 2.
Randolph will try to hold its No. 1 ranking with an impressive performance at its home tournament this weekend. It won't be easy with a matchup against former Gopher Conference rival Blooming Prairie (9-2, 5-1), which has strung together an eight-game winning streak, on the slate.
Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian (11-1, 4-0) land at No. 2 in the poll, having bounced back from a 7-2 loss to Brainerd on April 22 with three straight wins.
New York Mills (13-0, 11-0) rose to No. 3 after coming in at No. 5 the previous week.
Sleepy Eye St. Mary’s (11-1, 5-1) and Maranatha Christian (13-1, 8-0) were tied at No. 4 this week.

Class 2A
The top two spots remained unchanged in Class 2A, with Maple Lake (11-0, 6-0) at No. 1 and Pipestone (10-0, 6-0) at No. 2.
Pipestone's poll position could be tenuous, as the Arrows have a showdown at home with No. 2-1A Edgerton/Southwest Minnesota Christian on May 8.
Chatfield (11-0, 11-0) rose to No. 3. The Gophers lead the Three Rivers Conference West Division and average nearly 12 runs per game.
Albany (10-1, 5-1) moved down a spot to No. 4 and will have a rematch with St. Cloud Cathedral -- the only team to beat the Huskies this season -- on May 9.
Winona Cotter (12-4, 11-2) also fell one spot, landing at No. 5 this week.
Class 3A
Mankato West (11-1, 7-0) and Hermantown (7-0) held the top two spots, respectively, in Class 3A.
Faribault continued its rise in the rankings, capturing the No. 3 ranking this week. The Falcons (7-0, 7-0) were No. 6 a week ago after being ranked No. 23 the previous week. They will be tested at the Lakeville North tournament this weekend, where they face No. 8-3A Visitation.
Chisago Lakes (9-2, 6-1) dropped a spot to No. 4 after a 5-4 loss to Rogers on May 2.
Rocori (9-0, 6-0) moved up five spots to No. 5.
Class 4A
Chanhassen (11-0, 8-0) has shut out all but one opponent this season, helping the Storm lock down the No. 1 spot in Class 4A. But a matchup with Bloomington Jefferson, the only team to score a run on Chanhassen, looms on May 10.
Anoka (9-0, 6-0) has expertly navigated a difficult schedule with a defense that has allowed just 10 runs in nine games. The Tornadoes moved up to No. 2 following a 3-0 win over No. 7 Blaine.
Prior Lake (11-1, 8-1) moved to the top spot in the South Suburban Conference standing following a 3-2 win over Farmington last week, and the victory propelled the Lakers up four places in the rankings to No. 3.
The loss didn't hurt Tigers (10-3, 7-2), who rose to No. 4 after spending the previous week at No. 5.
Forest Lake (9-3, 6-3) plunged three places to No. 5 following consecutive losses to Suburban East Conference rivals Woodbury and Stillwater in the last seven days
