This week's winner

Ashley Neuenfeldt, Bloomington JeffersonThe senior pitcher threw 19 strikeouts in a 4-0 shutout over St. Louis Park on Friday and held Maple Grove scoreless in a 2-0 victory the next day.

Player of the Week candidates

Sunny Strait, Minnetonka. Two home runs and five RBI by the junior allowed the Skippers to top Wayzata 12-11 a week ago.

Marybeth Olson, Chanhassen. The senior pitcher was instrumental in the Storm’s 2-1 victory over D.C. Everest last Saturday. She threw 16 strikeouts while also hitting a double and finishing with an RBI.

Alex Kotaska, Pequot Lakes. Kotaska finished with a home run and seven RBI to power the Patriots in a doubleheader sweep of Staples-Motley. The junior has 17 runs and 14 hits on the season.

Riley Thalhuber, Holy Angels. Thalhuber had a home run, a double and two singles to record six RBI in a 9-4 victory over Fridley. The junior has 12 runs and 14 hits this season, help the Stars remain undefeated this season.

Mary Pardo, Blaine. The junior right-hander collected five RBI and hit two home runs in the Bengals’ 6-0 victory over Coon Rapids. She has a .515 batting average on the season.

Megan Osterhaus, Burnsville. Osterhaus tallied 15 strikeouts and hit a double in the Blaze’s tight 1-0 victory over Shakopee. The junior pitcher has amassed a whopping 133 strikeouts this season.

Haley Ulrich, Elk River. She led the Elks with a double, a triple and a home run in a 3-0 victory over Spring Lake Park. The junior pitcher also recorded four strikeouts.

Bre Bresnahan, Faribault. Two homers and six RBI from the junior sparked the Falcons in a 13-8 victory over Big 9 Conference rival Rochester John Marshall.

Elly Novak, Tri-City United. The sophomore pitcher struck out nine and finished with a home run and a double in a 11-8 victory over Lake Crystal-Wellcome. She also posted 12 strikeouts in an 11-0 rout of Maple River the following day.
