Senior looking for fourth-straight trip to Class 3A tournament

Brittani Robinson

Hastings senior infielder Brittani Robinson is looking to help the Raiders to their fourth consecutive Class 3A softball tournament trip. Here is a closer look at Robinson:

The best movie I’ve seen in the past year? “Avatar” by far!

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Determined; selfless; respectful.

Favorite meal prior to a game? My most favorite is tuna.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … short. I was an eighth-grader playing with a bunch of seniors and upperclassmen. I was also pretty nervous.

What are your goals for the 2010-11 season? To have our team finish with a big bang! And to get as far as we possibly can go.

What did you work on in the offseason? Improving my batting and fielding skills and working on perfecting the fundamentals of the game.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete so far? Helping bring Hastings to state for the first time in 31 years as a freshman, and every year since.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? Take mandatory drug tests at least two times a season to ensure no drug use.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I work hard to get my school work done because at the end of the day if my grades are not good then I am not able to play sports. It is important to always put school first, academics will get you farther in life than sports will.

In 10 years, I hope I’m … a member of law enforcement, preferably an undercover agent or a detective in the special victims unit.
