Clutch hitting delivers win to Shakopee

SHAKOPEE 4, NEW PRAGUE 3: There was no place to put Mollie Annen, so the Trojans had to pitch to the senior third baseman. Annen delivered a bases-loaded single with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning, scoring the winning run in the Sabres’ victory in a Missota Conference matchup on Tuesday. It was Annen’s fourth hit of the game. Winning pitcher Ashley Walker had 12 strikeouts on the day.

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS 12-11, MINNEAPOLIS EDISON 0-1: Senior Bekka Kelly threw a no-hitter in the first game and one hitter in the nightcap as the Hylanders swept a nonconference doubleheader against the Tommies. She also went 5-for-7 at the plate with 5 runs scored on the day.

HOPKINS 7, MINNETONKA 3: Junior second baseman Abby Whritenour went 2-for-2, including a triple, with three RBI as the Class 3A, No. 4 Royals beat the Skippers in the Lake. Whritenour entered the game hitting .500. Hopkins raised its record to 10-1 on the season.

PRIOR LAKE 4, APPLE VALLEY 0: Junior Tori Workman threw a four-hit shutout, leading the Lakers past the Eagles in the South Suburban. Freshman Kara Lattery went 3-for-3, scored one run and drove in one run.

STILLWATER 3, HILL-MURRAY 2: Sophomore pitcher Hannah Heacox pitched a complete game to earn the nonconference victory for the Ponies over the Pioneers, scattering seven hits and striking out 14.

TOTINO-GRACE 12, NORTH BRANCH 0: Senior Erica Meyer tossed a one-hitter while striking out 12 as the Eagles topped the Vikings in the North Suburban.
