Wildcats outlast tigers in 10 innings

WACONIA 1, DELANO 0, 10 INN.: It took extra innings, but the Wildcats were finally able to manufacture a run in a Wright County pitcher’s duel. Junior Sami Schnyder led off the bottom of the tenth with a single and later scored on a two-out hit by sophomore Jaci Reinke, giving Waconia (8-5) an exciting walk-off win. Junior Lydia Long (Waconia) and senior Emilee Duskee (Delano) both threw ten-inning complete games.

MOUND-WESTONKA 7, HUTCHINSON 0: Senior Kim Hutchins continued her dominance in the circle for the White Hawks (11-2), firing a no-hitter while striking out 14 Tigers to improve her record to 9-1 on the season. Emmi Christensen was 3-for-3 with a double, homerun and 3 RBI to lead the offense.

BIG LAKE 3, ST. MICHAEL-ALBERTVILLE 2, 10 INN.: With two out in the bottom of the seventh, Hornets senior Marissa Erickson hit a solo homerun to send the game into extra innings. Big Lake (10-4) then won it in the tenth inning on a RBI single by sophomore Terryn McClaflin.
