• HASTINGS 8, ROCHESTER JOHN MARSHALL 1: Raiders senior Treya Connell pitched a complete game and struck out 16 in leading her team into the section championship round unbeaten. Junior Lori Bauer hit two homers and senior Brittani Robinson one for the Raiders.

Class 3A, Section 3 Playoffs

• BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 10, EASTVIEW 4: Junior Lauren Falkanger hit a grand slam in the second inning, staking the Jaguars to an early 8-0 lead against the Lightning in their losers’ bracket victory. Sophomores Karmann Carroll (3-for-4, three RBI) and Cassandra Santiago (three hits, three runs) also hit well for Jefferson, which will play the Burnsville-Park of Cottage Grove winner on Tuesday.
