Maple Grove at Blaine
5 p.m., Wednesday, April 8

Blaine has a chance to flip last year's Northwest Suburb Conference standings upside down with an early win over Maple Grove.

Maple Grove pitcher Sydney Smith allowed just 21 hits in 67 innings as a junior last season, and returning starters Sarah Michal and Madison Gordon should provide the Crimson's offensive punch. The two combined for 18 RBI and nine stolen bases last season.

Blaine sophomores Malorie Stone and Taylor Bross return after recieving all-conference awards in their freshman debut. Stone posted a 5-6 record with 1.82 ERA and 35 strikeouts on the mound, while Bross recorded 16 hits, 11 RBI and four walks.
