Hiawatha Valley Conference heavyweights Kasson-Mantorville and Cannon Falls meet after the the KoMets' historic state championship run in 2014.

Led by pitcher Maddie Damon, Kasson-Mantorville allowed just nine runs during its unbeaten season. With 1,260 strikeouts under her belt, Damon is already the state's all-time strikeout leader and still has her senior season ahead.

The KoMets are without catcher Cori Kennedy who tore her ACL during the basketball season, but senior Dana Rasmussen and juniors McKenzie Hemann and Chante Thome will provide a solid core.

Cannon Falls fell 4-0 to Kasson-Mantorville in the Class 2A, Section 1 playoffs, but with eight seniors in their lineup, the Bombers are equipped for a run at the conference title.
