Forest Lake at Park of Cottage Grove

Defending Suburban East Conference champ Park of Cottage Grove hosts Forest Lake on Wednesday in a matchup of teams sure to finish near the top of the league again this season.

The Wolfpack (1-0) opened their year April 6 with a 11-1 victory over Providence Academy. Park pitcher Hanna Mortenson was solid at the plate, going 2-for-2 with three RBI, and teammate Heather Degler hit a two-run home run.

Park returns all-state honorable mention first baseman Delaney Young to a lineup that has some pop.

The Rangers finished in a three-way tie for second place in the conference last year, and they expect to compete for a title this year under Sean Hall, who is in his first season at Forest Lake after spending the last four years at Lakeville North.
