Rosemount at Farmington
4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 21

It could be a real pitchers' duel when Rosemount and Farmington meet for the first time this season.

The Irish won both meetings last year 8-0 and 3-0, as Gabby Sprang held the Tigers to two hits in both games.

Sprang wound up the hard-luck loser last Thursday in a 2-1 loss to Prior Lake. The junior gave Rosemount a 1-0 lead in the top of the seventh inning with a solo home run, only to have the Lakers rally to tie the game in the seventh and win it in the eighth.

Sprang gave up just four hits, one earned run and struck out 15 hitters for Rosemount (0-2, 0-2) in the matchup with Prior Lake standout pitcher Angela McBeain.

Sprang now meets Farmington’s Maddie Muelken, who finished with a 2.39 ERA and just 10 walks last year.

The Tigers (3-0, 2-0) are coming off a 16-1 victory over Burnsville on April 14.
