Elk River at Centennial
4:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 19

Elk River’s riding high after knocking off Northwest Suburban rival Maple Grove 5-3 on April 12 for the first time in five years. The Elks (2-0, 2-0) will try to keep the momentum going to remain undefeated in league play when they meet Centennial Tuesday.

Senior pitcher Olivia Wolters struck out nine hitters against the Crimson and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the win. Senior outfielder Sophia Schutt also went 2-for-4 for Elk River.

Wolters, an Augustana commit and all-state second team selection last year, stuck out 13 in the Elks’ 7-1 win last Thursday over Coon Rapids. Haley Ullrich and Marie Deaton each had two RBI in the victory.

Centennial (2-1, 1-1) will try to build off a close 4-1 loss to Anoka, as the Cougars try to remain competitive in a deep Northwest Suburban Conference field.
