East Ridge at Forest Lake
4:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 20

East Ridge broke out of an early-season slump at the plate last Friday in a 13-3 win over Roseville to pick up its first win of the season.

The Raptors (1-2, 1-2) lost 9-1 in the season opener to Suburban East rival Park of Cottage Grove April 11 and followed that with a 4-0 loss to Stillwater.

A slow start is nothing new for East Ridge. The Raptors started last year 1-4 but went 6-2 over the final eight games.

Forest Lake was part of the Raptors' bad start to the season, taking the first meeting last year 9-2, but East Ridge won the second game 3-2.

The Rangers (1-2, 1-2) are seeking a return to the .500 mark after losses to defending league champion Park of Cottage Grove and last year’s runner-up Woodbury, which went on to reach the Class 3A state tournament.

Forest Lake got its first win of the year last Friday when it beat Stillwater 6-1. Megan Hultgren drove in three runs and Mia Schmidtke went 3-for-4 with three runs.
