Though this intracity matchup won’t determine the Big 9 Conference title, Tuesday's game between Mankato West and East could be key in determining the league champion and also be a preview of the Class 3A, Section 2 championship game.

The Scarlets have allowed just three runs all year and outscored opponents 30-0 in their last three contests.

Lexi Schoper threw a no-hitter and Kenzie Grunst had a home run for West in an 8-0 win over Marshall on April 22.

The No. 1-3A Scarlets (9-0, 5-0) beat the Cougars 4-0 earlier in the season, but No. 7-3A East (8-2, 4-1) can save face with a win in the rematch.
