Woodbury vs. Park of Cottage Grove
4:30 p.m., Monday, May 8

Park of Cottage Grove has surrendered just three runs in its last four games, going 3-1 in that span. The Wolfpack (11-3, 8-2) are coming off a 2-0 loss to Winona on May 6 where they were held to three hits.

Park of Cottage Grove, ranked No. 6 in Class 4A by the Minnesota Fastpitch coaches' association, will return to Suburban East Conference play against rival Woodbury with first place on the line. The Wolfpack trail No. 7-4A Woodbury by half a game in the standings, but do own a 3-2 victory over the Royals back on April 21 where Delaney Young hit a three-run home run in the fifth inning to win the game.

Park of Cottage Grove’s Hanna Mortenson will likely get the matchup against Woodbury pitcher Ashley Mickschl

Mickschl struck out 11 in a 3-1 win over Lakeville North on May 6 to wrap up the Lakeville North Tournament. The Royals went 3-0 at that tournament, including 10-0, five-inning wins over Eden Prairie and Elk River.

Meagan Bliese leads the Royals (12-2, 9-2) with 15 RBI and a .467 batting average. Mickschl and Jade Boisjoli each have 10 RBI this season.
