Blooming Prairie vs. Randolph
3 p.m., Saturday, May 13

Blooming Prairie (10-2, 6-1) extended its winning streak to nine games on May 4 with a 14-7 and 4-0 doubleheader sweep of Medford. Elly Strunk and Jasmine Anderson drove in two runs in the first win, while Emma Christianson knocked in two in the second.

Blooming Prairie will try to topple Randolph, the new No. 1-ranked team in Class 1A and former Gopher Conference rival, at the Rockets' tournament.

Randolph (11-1, 7-0) grabbed the No. 1 spot following a season-opening 11-game winning streak. Waterville-Elysian-Morristown snapped that streak on May 2 with a 9-1 victory, but the Rockets will get a chance to build momentum heading into the meeting with Blooming Prairie with a doubleheader on May 8 against Triton.

Prior to the loss against the Buccaneers, Randolph's Morgyn Otte struck out 14 Houston hitters in a 10-0, six-inning win in the first game of a doubleheader. Skyler Turek and Andrea Splichal each went 3-for-4 with two RBI. Mackenna Otte went 3-for-5 with two RBI in the second game and Lindsey Grant finished 2-for-3 with an RBI.
