Rochester Lourdes at Blooming Prairie

Rochester Lourdes has emerged as the top team in the Hiawatha Valley League this season and will take a swing against the Gopher Conference’s top team, Blooming Prairie, in the regular-season finale for the No. 5-2A Eagles (17-1, 10-0).

Rochester Lourdes has won nine straight games behind pitcher Abbey Gapinski, who has a 17-0 record with 80 strikeouts and issued just 15 walks in 103 1/3 innings. Gapinski is also hitting .347 with 17 RBI. Grace Rogers leads the team with 18 RBI and 20 runs while teammate Eleanor Plager has a .423 batting average and 19 runs scored.

Blooming Prairie (13-4, 8-2) ended last week with a 3-2 win against No. 7-1A Randolph thanks to Elly Strunk, who allowed two runs and struck out five.

Bria Baldwin went 2-for-3 with an RBI in the victory on May 13 that ended a two-game losing streak for the No. 8-1A Awesome Blossoms.
