Northfield vs. Holy Angels

11 a.m., Saturday, April 21

Rescheduled for April 28

Both teams enter this nonconference affair looking to showcase their strong offenses.

Northfield (1-0) has shown its prowess at the plate in limited action. After averaging more than 6 runs per game a year ago, the Raiders seem to show they could be ready for a similar pace this season following a 10-9 victory over Austin on April 5. Junior infielder Marissa Nelson went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a pair of runs scored in the win.

Holy Angels brings back its entire lineup from last season's squad that averaged 9.4 runs per game while posting a 13-4 overall record.

The Stars' lineup includes eight seniors who have played together since their freshman year, including catcher/third baseman Riley Thalhuber. She hit .476 with a team-best 25 RBI as a junior, and Holy Angels will look to her and the other upperclassmen to propel the team to its first state tournament appearance since 2000.
