Maple Grove vs.

Champlin Park

4:30 p.m., Thursday, April 26

This Northwest Suburban Conference matchup features two teams looking to make noise in league and section play.

Maple Grove (5-0, 3-0) is off to a strong start after graduating six players from a team that reached the Class 4A state tournament last season.

The Crimson have won their first five games thanks in large part to junior pitcher Ava Dueck. In last Friday's 10-0 win against Irondale, Dueck pitched four scoreless innings while striking out six batters. At the plate, Dueck was one of eight players to tally a RBI in the win.

Champlin Park (3-1, 1-0) will look to junior shortstop Holly Blaska as it tries to run down conference-leading Maple Grove. The Miami (Ohio) commit is off to a strong start in conference play, going 2-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in the Rebels' 6-1 win over Park Center on April 18.
