Delano vs. Rockford

4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 26

Kaylie Scanlon has five home runs and 23 RBIs this season, numbers that would spearhead the offense of many teams in Minnesota. But not at Delano, where junior Louisa Stowman is hitting .615, and leads the state in home runs (12) and RBIs (50).

Scanlon, hitting .369, is fourth on the No. 8-3A Tigers in driving in runs, behind Stowman, Sydney York (.462) and her 30 RBIs, and Carly Stuckmayer (.408), who boasts 27 RBIs. Stowman's 50 RBIs to date is the fourth-best regular-season total in state history (Cori Kennedy of Kasson-Mantorville had 52 in 2013, Kylee Pachel of Park Rapids had 53 in 2019 and Ally Bode of Moose Lake-Willow River holds the record with 56 in 2016).

The powerhouse lineup of Delano (15-4, 12-2), which averages 12.6 runs per game, will put Makayla Graunke and Rockford's stingy defense to the test.

Graunke has 95 strikeouts, a 1.22 ERA and 10 victories. The No. 10-2A Rockets have allowed just 44 total runs this season, a clip of just 2.4 per runs per game.

Rockford can also put runs on the board. Graunke has three home runs and 17 RBIs. Ellie Sather (5 home runs, 22 RBIs), Julia Houghton (2 home runs, 19 RBIs) and Calla Koshiol (2 home runs, 18 RBIs) also give the Rockets (16-2, 13-1) plenty of offense.
