And the winner is...MN Softball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Softball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Courtney Kopischke, Bloomington Kennedy. The junior pitcher tossed 12 innings in victories against Robbinsdale Cooper (6-2 on May 3) and Rochester Century (2-0 on May 4) last week — allowing one unearned run and five hits total. Kopischke struck out 27 batters in the wins, and at the plate, she recorded a pair of hits (including a home run) for five RBI.

Top performer candidates

Brynn Hostettler, Northfield. The sophomore pitcher has been a highlight in most of the Raiders' wins this season, and she added 42 strikeouts in a trio of victories last week (3-0 over Red Wing, 5-0 over Austin, 14-0 over Rochester Mayo). Hostettler stat line also included pitching 19 shutout innings and giving up just four hits.

Salena Jeanson, North St. Paul. The junior outfielder accounted for nearly a third of the Polars' 32 runs in three Metro East games, collecting five hits, four runs scored and nine RBI to help the Polars extend an undefeated streak to 11 contests. Jeanson had two more hits and two RBI as North St. Paul went 2-1 at the Andover Invitational on Saturday. She finished the week having hit a home run, one triple, two doubles and five singles.

Trinity Junker, Chisago Lakes. The senior pitcher began the week with a 19-strikeout performance in a 4-0 win against Monticello. The following day, Junker pitched the Wildcats to a 4-2 win against St. Francis. In her three games last week, she struck out 33 batters and gave up just three earned runs. 

Lauren Laviano, Mahtomedi. The sophomore catcher had a career-best game in the Zephyrs' 12-3 win against South St. Paul on May 3. Laviano went 5-for-5, matching her career-high in hits — two came on doubles — and setting a career-high with seven RBI.
