And the winner is...MN Softball Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Softball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Kal Harris, Minneapolis Southwest. The senior pitcher amassed 42 strikeouts through 19 innings in three Lakers (10-6, 6-0) wins last week. Harris tallied 23 strikeouts in one of those games — the Lakers’ 10-inning 4-3 victory at Minneapolis Washburn. She has accumulated 128 strikeouts through 11 games this season, 10th most of any pitcher in the state.

Top performer candidates

Isabella Daniels, Maple Grove. The senior had two solid pitching performances last week for Maple Grove (13-3, 10-2), with one shutout and another near shutout. The Crimson defeated Champlin Park 4-1 on May 18 as Daniels allowed one run on three hits while striking out eight batters. Two nights later, Daniels produced a seven-inning shutout, giving up four hits and recording 10 strikeouts.

Khendal Johnson, St. Michael-Albertville. The sophomore recorded her second consecutive game with multiple RBIs as the Knights defeated Hopkins 4-2 on May 17. Johnson hit two home runs — just her second and third of the season — knocking in three of the Knights’ (13-6, 7-4) four runs in the win.

Ellie Peterson, St. Anthony. The junior pitcher blanked Visitation’s offense, pitching a near-perfect game in the Huskies’ 4-0 victory on May 17. Peterson held Visitation hitless and allow just one walk, striking out 13 batters in her stellar performance. She also accounted for most of the Huskies’ (18-0, 7-0) offense, recording three RBIs on a home run.

Caylee Weber, BOLD. The junior led the hit parade during BOLD’s May 18 victory at MACCRAY, a game which saw a combined 29 hits and 27 runs scored. Weber was a perfect 6-for-6 at the plate, leading the Warriors’ 17-10 victory with a season-high five RBIs and four stolen bases for BOLD (4-13, 0-12).
