Ms. Softball winner announced

See who finished the season as Minnesota's top high school softball player.

Sydney Schwartz is the 2022 Play Ball! Minnesota Ms. Softball.

Schwartz is an outgoing senior and dominated the circle pitching for Chanhassen as well as in the batters box for the Storm.

The future Gopher had a 21-2 record in 23 games pitched, 148 1/3 innings of work in total. She had a 1.42 ERA and 224 strikeouts, the latter being fourth best in the state.

As a batter, she had a .565 batting average to go with 35 hits in 24 games. She also recorded 13 home runs and 29 RBIs through the season.

The other finalists for the 2022 Ms. Softball award were Bryn Elsenpeter of Maple Lake, Grace Fricke of Winona, Taylor Hess of Maple Lake, Abigail Stierlen of Mankato West, Olivia Tautges of Brainerd and Avery Wukawitz of East Ridge.
