Top performer winner

Carter Raymond, Randolph. Raymond highlighted a strong pitching week for the Rockets with back-to-back complete shutouts on May 2 and 4. The sophomore started off by striking out 13 batters in a 10-0 win over Nicolett before upping her game even more in a 8-0 win against Hayfield. There, Raymond tallied 17 strikeouts while also going 3-for-4 at the plate and driving in three runs.

Top performer candidates

Madelyn Anthony, North St. Paul. Anthony and the Polars kept their undefeated conference run going last week, opening May with a 14-4 win over Two Rivers before defeating Mahtomedi on back-to-back days. The sophomore really found her rhythm at the plate and hit one home run in each of those wins. In total, Anthony hit 8-for-11 while driving in 12 runs. She also pitched 13 total innings throughout the week, in which she struck out 11 batters.

Alexa Skogquist, St. Francis. Skogquist kicked off an important week for the Saints with a clinic in power hitting on May 2. She batted in eight of the Saints' 17 runs as all three of her at-bats ended with home runs. Three days later, Skogquist went the distance again, cracking another home run in a 8-5 win over Cambridge-Isanti. She totaled four RBIs in that contest.

Laney Weis, Southland. The freshman was superb at the mound last week for the Rebels as she pitched two complete games, one of them being a 13-0 shutout on May 4. Weis racked up 25 total strikeouts in those games, while only allowing two hits. That took her season strikeout total to 111 as of May 7, good for fourth in the state.

Jessa Snippes, Rosemount. The senior really showed her versatility this past week in the Irish's two wins on May 3 and 4. She first threw a complete game shutout against Burnsville where she struck out 14 batters, allowing only two hits. The next day, Snippes racked up eight strikeouts but it was her performance at the plate that impressed the most. She cracked a hit on all four of her plate appearances including two home runs to notch a game-high six RBIs.
