Top performer winner

Kyllie Weingart, Maranatha. The Mustangs had an explosive week offensively, and Weingart was a major part. First, the catcher went 4-for-5 at the plate in a 26-13 win over New Life Academy on May 10, including two doubles and a home run that saw her rack up five RBIs and nine total bases. Two days later, Weingart's power hitting returned against St. Croix Prep when she hit a single and triple to bring home three runners in that game.

Top performer candidates

Kurstyn Patnode, Becker. The senior ace topped off her week last week with a major performance in a 6-0 win over Cambridge-Isanti on May 11. In that contest, Patnode pitched all seven innings while tossing seven strikeouts and allowing just one hit. Patnode also produced some offense in her four at-bats. She cracked two hits that included a home run.

Macy Borowski, Byron. The righty pitcher had herself a shutdown week at the mound, not allowing a single run in either of her complete games. Borowski tallied 12 strikeouts on May 9 and fanned another 18 batters on May 11, allowing nine hits combined over the two games. In the latter game against Pine Island, Borowski also provided some of her own offense, smashing her seventh home run of the season.

Cameron Chard, Belle Plaine. Chard and Belle Plaine seemingly never let up in their 30-0 win over Sibley East on May 12. The catcher was one of a few standout players in that game alone, but her power hitting simply could not be ignored. Chard went 5-for-5 at the plate, racked up four home runs, drove in10 RBIs, and notched 16 total bases. Her homer barrage took her up to nine on the season as of May 15, good for second in the state.

Angela Proper, St. Agnes. The freshman really stepped up for her team last week, controlling games at the mound while racking up strikeouts. In her three games between May 9-13, Proper tossed a total of 36 K's and was especially efficient in her team's 10-0 win over PACT. In that game, she allowed only four hits while pitching a complete shutout for what was her eighth win of the season.
