QUICK Q&A:  KAITLIN STARK, HASTINGS SOFTBALL

Right fielder Kaitlin Stark would like nothing better than to repeat last year's most memorable moment, winning the Class 3A softball state championship.

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "The Vow."

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? The silent assassin.

When did you start playing softball? I have been playing softball as long as I can remember. It runs in the family. My varsity coach, Dean Robinson, has been my coach my whole life.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... nervous and wanted to hide in a hole.

To get focused for a game, I ... watch Web Gems on ESPN.com.

What is your favorite pregame meal? Anything as long as my mom cooks it.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Our biggest rival would have to be Park of Cottage Grove. Being in the same conference and separated by only a river makes for a rival.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? It would be cool to travel to other states.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? Become good at using my time wisely, and having a study hall during the day.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... employed and have my head above water.

Your favorite college or pro sports team and why? Boston Red Sox. David Ortiz, enough said!

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "Your mind controls your true potential" and "Nobody said it would be easy, just worth it."
