The Tigers had no shortage of fan support in Browerville as they had a chance to clinch first place in the Prairie Conference when they hosted the Osakis Silverstreaks.

The Tigers fell behind early as Osakis was able to score one in the first and used some nice small ball and clutch hitting to score two in the third, and one in the fourth and seventh innings.

Despite the Tigers being down 4-1 in the final frame, they never gave up and were able to score two runs on two hits and two Osakis errors to bring the score to 4-3.

With the baseball game done, many fans migrated over to the softball game to watch the late inning rally by the Tigers.

With runners on first and second and two outs, sophomore catcher Andi Buhl battled throughout her entire at bat fouling off many pitches as she protected the plate. With the count full, she finally blasted the 3-2 pitch over the left field fence for a walkoff three-run home run to secure the 6-4 victory.

“The fans were treated to a great softball game today as both teams played their hearts out,” head coach Nathan Meissner said. “The most important thing about today is the girls never gave up, and that will help us down the road.”

Abby Aksamit did a nice job on the mound holding Osakis to just seven hits.
