April 26: The Storm have dominated opponents this season and could be tested by the up-and-coming Orioles.

The Storm are fresh off their first state tournament appearance and started this season on a roll, outscoring their first three opponents 41-0.

But Chanhassen (5-2), which is ranked third in Class 4A by the Minnesota Fastpitch Coaches' Association, wasn’t able to get past defending Metro West champ Bloomington Jefferson last Friday, falling 3-2 in the first of two league contests with the Jaguars this season.

Under first-year head coach Bobby Crumpton, St. Louis Park looks like a team to watch in the league for the next few seasons.

Crumpton, who played football at Minnesota under former coach Lou Holtz, has long been a fixture in the state's softball scene with the Minnesota Irish club team, but this is his first foray into coaching a high school squad.

The Orioles (4-1) have just two seniors and will face a Chanhassen program that is the class of the league despite not winning the Metro West last season.

This matchup of Metro West contenders is our Top Game of the Week.
