This week's winner

Brooke Herman, Southwest Christian AcademyThe junior had four runs, four hits and six RBI in four at-bats. She also pitched nine strikeouts in a 16-3 victory over Columbia Heights.

Player of the Week candidates

Kelly Schultz, Red Lake Falls. The senior pitcher swung a home run and threw six strikeouts in a 14-2 victory over Red Lake County.

Hailey Heckenlaible, St. Francis. The freshman finished with four runs, four hits and a home run in four at-bats to help the Fighting Saints defeat Cambridge-Isanti 16-3.

Calli Maki, Maple Lake. The junior finished with a home run, a double and had four RBI while also striking out eight Cardinals to round off her first regular-season game with a 5-1 victory over Annandale. She also led the Irish in another 23-2 victory over Litchfield with three hits, two runs and four strikeouts.

Megan Rubbelke, North St. Paul. The senior pitched a shutout with 11 strikeouts and recorded an RBI in a 2-0 victory over Tartan.

Madison Schmitz, Albany. The senior helped the Huskies defeat Sauk Centre 13-3 with four runs, four hits and an RBI.

Brooke Herman, Southwest Christian Academy. The junior had four runs, four hits and six RBI in four at-bats. She also pitched nine strikeouts in a 16-3 victory over Columbia Heights.

Ellie Maricle, Windom. The eighth-grade pitcher struck out 14 at Red Rock Central in a 13-3 victory.  

Anna Newton, Hill-Murray. The junior had three RBI, two hits and three runs in a 13-1 victory over Mahtomedi.
