May 30: Hailey Scheffknecht had two hits and an RBI to lead Simley past Holy Angels in section play.

May 30

Simley 6, Holy Angels 5. Holy Angels rallied for three runs in the top of the seventh, but could not pull even and lost this Class 3A, Section 3 semifinal game. Hailey Scheffknecht led Simley, going 2-for-3 with an RBI. Teammate Emma Heimerl went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI, and pitcher Courtney Heagle struck out five while earning the win. Rachel Kawiecki went 3-for-4 with a double for the Stars, and Rylee Fischer had a double and three RBI.

May 31

Chanhassen 2, Prior Lake 1.  Chanhassen scored first, with a run in bottom of the first in the Class 4A, Section 2 winners' bracket final. It held the lead until the fifth inning, when Prior Lake tied the game 1-1. The Storm scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the seventh inning. Kali O’Keeffe went 2-for-3 with an RBI Tori Tollefson went 2-for-3 for Chanhassen. Storm pitcher Marybeth Olson went seven innings, surrendering four hits and striking out nine. The Lakers’ Jasmine Ziegler went 2-for-3 and Katie Stewart tallied an RBI. Pitcher Kailey Ahlstrom struck out nine in a losing effort. Since it is a double-elimination bracket, Prior Lake moves on to play Minnetonka in the semifinals.

Blaine 9, St. Francis 1. Blaine scored six runs in the bottom of the sixth to extend their lead en route to the victory in a Class 4A, Section 7 quarterfinal. Mary Pardo sparked the Blaine offense, finishing 3-for-4 with a home run and an RBI. Taylor Bross tallied three RBI and pitcher Sydney Matsuka earned the win, going five innings and striking out five, for the Bengals. Kiley Murschel went 2-for-2 and Hailey Heckenlaible had an RBI for St. Francis.

June 1

Woodbury 11, Hill-Murray 3. Hill-Murray scored three runs in the first inning to take an early lead, but Woodbury controlled the rest of the game and cruised to a victory in the Class 4A, Section 4 championship game. Ashley Mickschl was 3-for-3 and had three RBI at the plate and pitched six innings, striking out nine for the Royals. Shannon Motzko contributed two RBI and Amanda Dickmeyer went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for Woodbury. Alli Clark had a double and Sammie Rambo collected two RBI for Hill-Murray.
