Mounds View homers three times to top Hastings

MOUNDS VIEW 8, HASTINGS 3: The Mustangs used three home runs to upset the Class 3A, No. 4 Raiders on Monday. Taylor Daas, Taylor Linn and Kathryn Larson homered in the Suburban East Conference win.  hit back to back HRs. Linn’s was a three-run shot.

APPLE VALLEY 3, ROSEMOUNT 1: Senior Lynsi Havens broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth inning, lifting the Eagles over the Class 3A, No. 10 Irish in South Suburban play. Havens went 2-for-3, and also scored one run.

EAST RIDGE 9, WOODBURY 4: Junior Taylor LeMay went 3-for-4, including a grand slam, with five RBI, leading the Class 3A, No. 9 Raptors past the Royals in the Suburban East. Teammates senior Alyssa Ronquillo also went 3-for-4 and scored two runs, while senior Chris Shoemaker added two hits and three RBI.

HOPKINS 7, COOPER 2: Eighth-grader Lauren Feagler went 3-for-3 with two home runs and three RBI as the Class 3A, No. 6 Royals beat the Hawks.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 3, LAKEVILLE SOUTH 1: The Panthers used the sister tandem of Sarah and Erika Rozell to beat the crosstown-rival Cougars in a South Suburban matchup. Sarah threw a four-hitter while striking out 11, and Erika went 3-for-3 at the plate with a double and one RBI.

MAPLE GROVE 6, OSSEO 1: Sophomore infielder Taylor Bratten went 2-for-3 with three RBI as the Crimson beat the Orioles in a Northwest Suburban game.

NORTH ST. PAUL 9, HILL-MURRAY 1: Becca Mroz belted a grand slam, and Cassie Bertelsen added a three-run shot, powering the Class 3A, No. 2 Polars past the Pioneers in the Classic Suburban.

PRIOR LAKE 2, BLOOMINGTON KENNEDY 1: Junior Tori Workman’s RBI single in the top half of the seventh inning proved to be the game-winner as the Lakers beat the Eagles in the South Suburban Conference. Senior Kaci Jelle earned the win, throwing a complete game and allowing just one earned run while striking out five.

WAYZATA 2, EDINA 0: Junior Kelsey Kleist hit a solo home run in the fifth inning, lifting the Trojans over the Hornets in the Lake.  Junior pitcher Jessica Williams threw a complete game shutout, allowing just four hits.
