Delano's Lewis provides the offense in 3-1 win over Waconia

DELANO 3, WACONIA 1: Junior Ashley Lewis belted a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth, breaking a 1-1 tie and lifting the Tigers over the Wildcats in the Wright County Conference on Thursday. Lewis also doubled and scored a run in the fourth.

EAST RIDGE 2, ROSEVILLE 0: Senior Samantha Gregory threw a two-hit shutout with nine strikeouts, leading the Raptors past the Raiders in the Suburban East. East Ridge scored single runs in the fourth and seventh innings.

MOUNDS VIEW 7, CRETIN-DERHAM HALL 1: Megan Danielson tossed a three-hitter, and didn’t allow an earned run while striking out seven in the Mustangs victory over the Raiders in the Suburban East. Liz Towne had a two-run single in Mounds View’s fourth-run fourth.

PARK CENTER 10, ELK RIVER 2: Junior center fielder Kati Fern went 4-for-5 with a double and four RBI, leading the Class 2A, No. 5 Pirates past the Elks in the Northwest Suburban.  Teammate Abby DeMorett, also a junior, chipped in with a 2-for-3 performance and two RBI.

ST. PAUL JOHNSON 6, ST. PAUL HARDING 5: Ashley Standley went 2-2 with two doubles and two RBI as the Governors rallied past the Knights in the St. Paul City. The junior catcher’s two RBI came in the decisive bottom of the sixth and keyed Johnson’s rally from a 5-2 deficit for the victory.

SOUTH ST. PAUL 2, TARTAN 0: Junior Emily Engelmeier  threw her second consecutive shutout, striking out 12 in the Packers’ victory over the Titans in the Classic Suburban. At the plate, Engelmeier went 2-for-3 to keep her batting average above .700.

STILLWATER 4, PARK OF COTTAGE GROVE 2: Sophomore pitcher Rachel Rhode ran her record to 4-0, throwing a four-hitter with seven strikeouts in the Ponies’ victory over the Wolfpack in the Suburban East. Stillwater put together a three-run fifth inning for the victory. Madie Eckstrom drove in Hannah Heacox and Dani Wigen with a two-run double that was followed by a Natalie Gerber base-hit to drive in Eckstrom.
